About Meritus
Your record. Your rules. Your gate. Your ambulance.
Meritus is the worker-owned credential and life-safety registry — anchored to a public timechain, with two separate QRs that never cross. The foreman sees your tickets. The paramedic sees your allergies. Nobody sees both unless you say so.
$29/year. Your record. Your rules.
The Problem We Solve
Every year, millions of professionals lose time and money re-proving credentials they have already earned. Trade certifications are scattered across training providers, unions, and government agencies. IT certifications are trapped in vendor portals. Healthcare licenses are locked in state boards. Financial certifications are siloed across regulatory bodies. When you move to a new job, a new province, or a new country, you start from scratch.
Employers face the mirror image of this problem. Before a worker can touch a tool, someone in the office has to verify every certification by hand: phone calls, faxes, emails to training centres that may not respond for days. Non-compliance is not an option: a single unverified worker on a regulated site can mean fines, shutdowns, or worse.
The system is broken because credentials are trapped in silos. Meritus breaks them free.
The Oath-Based Attestation Model
Meritus does not "validate" your credentials the way a background check company might. Instead, we use a model as old as civilisation and as reliable as the legal system: the sworn oath.
When you upload a certification to Meritus, you swear a legally binding oath that the document is authentic and that the information you provide is true. This is not a checkbox on a website. It is a solemn declaration with real legal consequences. If you lie, you are committing fraud, and Meritus keeps an immutable record of that oath forever.
Once you swear the oath, Meritus cryptographically timestamps your entry and locks it into a permanent ledger. The result is a credential that is:
- 1.Tamper-proof: once attested, neither you, nor Meritus, nor any employer can alter or delete the record.
- 2.Instantly verifiable: anyone with your serial number or QR code can confirm the credential in seconds, anywhere in the world.
- 3.Worker-owned: your profile belongs to you, not your employer. It follows you for life.
If a credential is later disputed (say an employer challenges its validity), Meritus does not delete the record. Instead, a Disputed flag is applied transparently. The original oath, the dispute, and any resolution are all visible to anyone who verifies the credential. Full transparency, full accountability.
Our Principles
Worker-Owned
Your credentials belong to you. No employer, no platform, no government agency can revoke your Meritus profile. When you leave a job, your record goes with you.
Employer-Proof
An employer can dispute a credential through proper channels, but they cannot silently remove or alter your record. Every action is logged and transparent.
Permanent
Once attested, a credential is permanent: Meritus keeps an append-only ledger, so attestation records can't be quietly edited or erased. You can deactivate your profile or delete your account at any time — what's permanent is the integrity of past attestations, not your visibility.
What you actually get
Four product pillars, all backed by the same hash-chain ledger and Bitcoin timechain anchor.
Portable Credentials
Upload your certs once. Permanent, verifiable, employer-scannable QR code. Worker-owned; nobody can paywall your own record.
Emergency Profile
Optional separate red QR for first responders: blood type, allergies, conditions, contact. Never mixed with the credential QR.
Forensic Chain-of-Custody
Court-grade point-in-time reports showing exactly what a worker was certified for at the moment an incident occurred. Bitcoin-anchored.
Verified Professional Statement
Lender-grade income proof signed by the registry, with a verify QR landlords and banks can scan instantly.
Not a Pearson Product. Not a Vendor Record. Yours.
Your Meritus credential isn't a corporate badge in someone else's database. It isn't owned by an education conglomerate, a software vendor, or any platform you'd have to pay or beg to access your own record.
Every Meritus credential is anchored to a public timechain. Its existence at-or-before its issue date is mathematically uncontestable — independent of Meritus, independent of any company. If we disappeared tomorrow, your proof would still verify.
The same is true of the emergency QR. The paramedic doesn't need our servers to be reachable. They scan, they see, they treat. The record belongs to the person it describes — and only the person it describes can change it.
History & Mission
Meritus was built by working professionals, for working professionals. It is a service of OptiMystic Holdings Inc., dedicated to building infrastructure that serves the people who actually do the work.
We saw first-hand how skilled workers, whether electricians, welders, heavy-equipment operators, safety officers, or cloud architects, were forced to re-prove their qualifications every time they changed employers, crossed a provincial or national border, or returned to the workforce after a break. Your Red Seal, your safety tickets, your AWS certs, your professional licences: trapped in employer filing cabinets, vendor portals, and provincial silos. Workers lose. Employers gatekeep. The system fails the people it is supposed to serve.
The idea was simple: create a single, global registry where a worker's credentials are permanent, portable, and instantly verifiable. No middlemen. No employer lock-in. Not designed in Silicon Valley. Built from the shop floor.
Our mission is to make credential portability a universal right, not a privilege. If you earned it, you should own it, and the world should be able to verify it in three seconds flat.
$29/year. No hidden fees. No employer-controlled access. Your first certification is always free.
Meritus operates globally, with initial coverage across Canada and the United States, expanding as provider partnerships grow.
