The Employer Registry: Public Accountability for the Trades
In the trades, workers get verified constantly — drug tests, safety tickets, competency assessments. But who verifies the employer?
The Employer Registry on Meritus flips the script. Employers are now publicly listed, rated, and accountable.
What the Employer Registry includes:
- •Public employer profiles with company details, industry, and location
- •Trust scores calculated from worker interactions and verification history
- •Violation reports — workers can file sworn complaints against employers for safety violations, wage theft, credential fraud, or other misconduct
- •Employer responses — companies have the right to respond to any violation filed against them
- •Verification history — how actively the employer verifies worker credentials (a signal of how seriously they take safety)
How violations work:
- 1.A worker files a sworn violation report, selecting the category and providing details.
- 2.The employer is notified and can respond publicly.
- 3.The report and response are both visible on the employer's registry profile.
- 4.Neither side can delete or edit after submission — the record is permanent and transparent.
Meritus doesn't adjudicate disputes between workers and employers. We provide the infrastructure for transparent, sworn, permanent records. The same oath model that protects credential integrity now extends to employer accountability.
For employers: claiming your profile is free. Responding to violations is free. Verifying workers is free. The Employer Registry rewards companies that take credentials and safety seriously — your verification activity and clean record become competitive advantages.
For workers: before you accept that next contract, look up the company. See what other workers have reported. Make informed decisions about where you work.
